Joshua Bible College understands that not all of GOD's people are called to put the time and effort into earning a degree in a Biblical discipline.
"know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man shall live by every word coming out of the mouth of YHVH." (Deu. 8:3)
"My people were silenced for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being a priest to me; seeing that you have forgotten the Torah of your God, I, too, will forget your children." (Hoshea 4:6)
The first question you might ask is, what is "Temperament?"
However, the FIRST Question You should ask is, what is COMPASSION?
Compassion = EMPATHY in ACTION.
In simple terms, temperament (distinctive characteristics) is inborn (not genetic) in every human being that determines how they react or respond to people, places, and things. In other words, is how we interact with our environment in the world around us. Temperament is the determining factor in how we handle the stress and pressure of life.
According to secular psychology, human beings are born a "blank slate." In other words, we are subject to "victimhood" of the effects of our environment and development stages and have no unique character traits to individualize us.
This is simply a falsehood. All one has to do is go to a daycare for newborns and watch the. You will quickly see that if there are 50 newborn babies, there will be 50 unique approaches to dealing with their environment.
In other words, arguably, there are 8 billion humans on this rock we call Earth. I would challenge anyone to take any segment, no matter how large or small, even including all 8 billion Humans. Give them this task; paint the same picture. I'm going to give you all the same exact brushes same exact paints same exact canvases, and the same exact view; I guarantee you that not one of those 8 billion paintings will be identical.
So Temperament comes from our SOUL (our SOUL is a piece of our God placed in our body), in which God has placed three basic needs.
We defined these needs and how we interact with our environment. These needs are "Inclusion," "Control," and "Affection."
Temperament therapy helps the individual discover their unique needs in relation to these needs and, in doing so, better understand how God has promised he would fill these needs. In other words, these needs are based on the "truth" of relationships.
Ancient Hebrew of the Bible is "lost in the translation." Ancient Hebrew of the Bible reveals the Living meaning of many important understandings in your Bible.
Which would you prefer, White bread or Full Grain Whole Wheat bread ? Both types of bread can provide sustenance and fill your belly but the difference between the Original Ancient Hebrew text and “YOUR” English translation is like White bread which has gone through extensive refining, can provide sustenance but lacks the Original Nutrition for LIFE; when the text is studied from the Original Ancient Hebrew text, the WORD comes to LIFE revealing the intended teaching.

There is a commonly held conception that we can be moral or live a moral life without GOD. Is this TRUE?
The quest of how to know Who, What, and When to TRUST.
Without GOD, there is no valid justification for morality (the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior) of any kind.
The point of this is to notice that what distinguishes moral actions and judgments and makes them unique is that they are absolute, not utilitarian.
What is meant by “absolute”? Unambiguously explicit, direct, certain, clear-cut, without exceptions or conditions.
What is “utilitarian”? To be useful, practical, sensible, or pragmatic relating to one’s self.
What determines what is morally correct in a utilitarian sense is always the consequences. If morality is evolutionarily defined by the outcome of the action, then the ever-shifting line of truth is also evolutionary making it utilitarian for self-serving purposes.
No matter how complicated the situation may be, what determines what is morally correct in that situation is never the consequence.
So, if we accept that morality is not evolutionary but absolute and God-given, then the next step to understand is how to use absolute morality in the quest how to know Who, What and When to TRUST.
One of the most effective techniques we use is STOP or ANT Therapy or learning how to kill the ANTs (automatic negative thoughts). After a hard day during which you experience stress after stress when you get home that evening and find an ant infestation in your HEAD (thoughts), much like an ANT infestation in your kitchen, your thoughts are from that day—like your infested kitchen, your brain is also infested by the Negative Thoughts that were robbing you and your love ones of joy and stealing everybody's happiness. So, learn to S.T.O.P and KILL THE A.N.T.'s
Psalm Therapy: The directions given at mount Sinai (aka, 10 Commandments) are the biblical source of our most basic system of absolute moral behavior. They represent the primary justification for our continued existence on earth. In the original Hebrew, the language in which our Creator's directions were inscribed, on the two tablets, are precisely 620 letters (pictures).
Perhaps we need to consider the world's present affliction, not just in the context of a disease caused by pathogens but as a message from our Creator. Maybe He is reminding us that we have been given our lives in this present existence to invest them with meaning and virtue as defined by His directions (aka 10 Commandments).
What is regret ?
Regret is a negative cognitive or emotional state involving blaming ourselves or others for a bad outcome, feeling a sense of loss or sorrow at what might have been, or wishing we could undo a previous choice.
The pain of regret can result in reinforcing and taking corrective action or pursuing a new path. However, the less opportunity one has to change the situation, the more likely it is that regrets can turn into rumination ( letting the problem replay over and over in your mind) and trigger chronic stress that damages the brain and body.
Significant research has shown that regrets were rated more favorable than unfavorable, primarily because it's informational value can be a motivating corrective action.
Interestingly, regret was also rated highest on a list of negative emotions in fulfilling five functions:
Can regret have long-term effects on well-being ?
Studies have shown regret can have damaging effects on the brain and body when it turns into fruitless rumination and self-blame or deflection that keeps you from re-engaging with life. This pattern of repetitive, negative self- focused ruminative thinking ( a.k.a. ANT's automatic negative thoughts) is characteristic of depression and anxiety, causing brain health and physical health problems.
Significant research shows that regret can result in chronic stress, negatively affecting hormonal and immune system functions. Regret impedes the ability to recover from stressful life events by extending their emotional reach for months, years, or a lifetime.
Sometimes we try to justify our actions using a variety of excuses such as, "everybody else is doing it," "at least I'm not like some people who go around stealing or killing!", "Who are you to say it's wrong?"
In secular society, the term "codependency" has always been related to destructive behavior. However, as usual, secular society has missed the fact that codependency is necessary and is neither productive nor destructive, but it is how we use it in our lives.
There is both a healthy "codependency" and an unhealthy "codependency" between every engagement of humanity.
This course aims to introduce the student to the study of codependency, emphasizing temperament theory. The student will understand codependency better and the proper methods to use in helping persons suffering from unhealthy codependency. The student will learn the proper recovery stages and ways to motivate one suffering from unhealthy codependency through the stages. Upon completion of his first, the student will be given credit for standing as having completed a course recognized by the NCCA. The candidate will be provided with specialized training regarding codependency, incorporating the counseling model taught by the NCCA.
This course digs deep into both aspects of "codependency" from the perspective of healthy relationships with people and things and unhealthy relationships with people and things in this existence.
This course compares and contrasts "codependency" from a secular and Biblical point of view.
The Bible (Torah) has a lot to say on the subject of healthy and unhealthy "codependency."
With an understanding of temperament theory (inborn, not genetic characteristics of a person's God-given needs) you will be able to identify and understand the underlying issues that may be causing unhealthy codependency.
