Our Philosophy & Teaching Style

Our Philosophy

At Joshua Bible College, we trust that all education has the potential to lead to a deeper understanding and relationship with the God of the universe. We honor and respect all paths towards enlightenment to this end, and strive to create a community that welcomes this goal.

Our Teaching Style

The style and method of teaching at Joshua Bible College has been employed from the beginning of time. (Gen 5:18-24)

This method is called " Hhanokh " (devoted, a.k.a. mentoring). Once an application has been accepted by a "devoted Rabbi," (devoted teacher) well-trained in Neurotheology, then the student begins their education.

What is " Hhanokh "

" Hhanokh " ( Mentor)

The style and method of teaching at Joshua Bible College has been employed from the beginning of time. (Gen 5:18-24) This method is called " Hhanokh " (devoted, a.k.a. mentoring). Once an application has been accepted by a "devoted Rabbi," the student begins their education.

  1. Mission: any successful outcome must have a goal, a "mission statement". What would one hope to achieve in this mentoring relationship? Take action: MISSION? This is the "essence" step. This is the step to get to know each other on a personal and professional level.
  2. Engagement: this is the "form" step. This is the step that is face-to-face or video chat and sets the basis of how often the mentor and mentee will meet.
  3. Network: this is the "exchange" step. This exchange between the mentor and mentee is the mentor carefully opening up their world to the mentee, and the mentee invites the mentor to access their world.
  4. Trust: this is the most important goal in any mentoring step. Building and maintaining trust between the mentor and mentee is essential, requiring reliability and dependability from both: honesty and clear communication. This trust has been built over time, with evidence.
  5. Opportunity: This step offers both the mentee and the mentor opportunities to grow. The mentoring partnership is a two-way partnership and should create opportunities for both the mentor and the mentee.
  6. Review: scheduling regular time for progress reviews between the mentor and the mentee. This is the step that requires taking action. The strategy to accomplish the mentoring goal is to maintain consistent monitoring and review of progress toward the goal. It is the mentee who sets the goal, and the mentor helps with its progress.

Mentoring's purpose is to help the Mentee realize their potential while generating results built on respect and trust, sharing knowledge, and ensuring the issue is thoroughly discussed and resolved, as available information allows.
